Difference between free-range birds and caged birds

Difference between free-range birds and caged birds
Broiler chickens kept in cages in poultry farms mature within 35 days after hatching due to the presence of growth-promoting hormones in incubation conditions. Broiler chickens mature naturally within 81 days. In mass production, animals are often fed unusual, unnatural feeds, as a result of which the taste of the meat changes. In mass production, alkali-treated straw, mixtures containing grain concentrates, additives containing bone meal, tricalcium phosphate, defluorophosphate, diammonium phosphate and other materials are used. Moreover, 40% of animal feed consists of these mixtures. The process of feeding free-ranging birds corresponds to their natural needs. In favorable weather conditions, the predominant part of the birds' food is grass, and in winter they eat barley, wheat, and corn, the cultivation process of which complies with the standards of green farming. In large poultry farms, it is quite difficult to regularly monitor the health of birds, so to avoid diseases, antibiotics are regularly given, thanks to which the birds are vaccinated. They remain in the meat, resulting in changes in the quality of the meat. The free-range area for birds kept on the Masreni farm is under strict control, fertilizers containing chemical additives are not used in the green area, the entry of other birds and unauthorized persons is prohibited, regular disinfection is carried out, which reduces the risk of possible bird diseases. Regular use of antibiotics is prohibited. In mass production poultry farms, birds do not move around because they are kept in cages. This affects the quality of the meat. And in the case of keeping birds in natural conditions, free training conditions are required. Mass-produced poultry meat uses artificial additives: flavorings, acidity regulators, thickeners. For this reason, the taste of meat products obtained naturally sometimes seems strange to people.
